Beyond Second Opinion

Instead of one expert’s view, a collective decision process in which every relevant discipline evaluates the same case together.

Why does a second opinion often fall short?

A classic second opinion tries to confirm an existing decision through the lens of a single expert. Yet in oncology the decision forms at the intersection of pathology, imaging, molecular data and the patient’s own priorities.

A single-expert model can only see part of that intersection. The result is sometimes conflicting opinions and a patient unable to decide.

What is collective decision intelligence?

Collective decision intelligence means different disciplines evaluating the same case simultaneously, in a structured format. AI only performs evidence screening and decision support in this process; the final decision always rests with the physicians.

How does the process work?

  • Your case file is collected in a structured way and any gaps are completed
  • Current literature is screened through AI-assisted evidence analysis
  • Experts from the relevant disciplines evaluate the case together
  • Consensus and any points of disagreement are recorded in a written report
  • The report is delivered in language you and your physician can act on

What does it add?

  • An evaluation not limited to one expert’s field of view
  • A reasoned, shared conclusion instead of conflicting opinions
  • Recommendations tied to current guidelines and levels of evidence
  • Treatment and clinical trial options that may have been overlooked
